Tatty Bumpkin classes and parties (inspired by the award-winning bendy character of the same name!) have been devised by physiotherapists, musicians, yoga teachers, educationalists as well as children and parents! The sessions are based on stories, with each adventure using lots of music, dance, yoga, games, giggling, magic, puppets and rhymes. They provide a structured, therapeutic, multi-sensory but most importantly FUN environment for them to learn and play!
"Tatty Bumpkin is humongously great!" Connor, aged 3 "The class is unique, no other children's class is quite like it", mother of a 4 year old "It's great - it really works" day nursery manager
"[Paula] is a real star, with the class of small children, aged 18 months to five years, wrapped around her flexible fingers." Bristol Evening Post "Thank you sooooooooooooo much for doing such a fantastic
thing on Saturday - I loved it and so did the littlies" parent of a 5 year old after a Tatty Bumpkin pirate party
STOP PRESS: Tatty Bumpkin classes have just won Best Physical Children's Activity in the National Awards run by Organix and Whats on for Little Ones! About the sessions:
The sessions also work brilliantly as a children's party, in day nurseries or after-school clubs, complementing the government's Early Years framework and with lots of scope for creative and free play.
Tatty Bumpkin particular strengths are:
- the magical nature of the adventures, they are good for children but very creative and playful!
- the natural mixture of everything kids love to do in one session: music, dance, movement, stories, role-play, lots of laughter
- where the parent is present you can really get involved with the child giving you some quality bonding time
- the music, designed to help promote beat competency (closely linked with brain development) and to make you feel happy, quiet, jumpy, relaxed and just happy!
- the ethical and environmental nature of Tatty and the business as a whole
- sessions are very adaptable to different ages, genders, are inclusive of children with special needs, can use stories celebrating cultural festivals and fulfil the goals of the Foundation Stage
and, uniquely...
- The sessions have won Best Physical Activity (What's On for Little Ones and Organix award for best children's activity age 2-7 years),
- Tatty Bumpkin is a member of the Preschool Learning Alliance
- we are accredited by CACHE, who accredit and train educators, youth and play workers etc
